Stalloen was a sacrificial stone, on which to honour the Gods.

In ancient times, Stalloen was used as a sacrificial site, and was in use up to the 19th century. According to legend, it would bring great misfortune if anyone should try to pull it down. It is also thought that bad things will happen to anyone who insults the stone. It is best therefore to politely greet the stone as you pass it, showing respect.
Location: Drive over Kvalsund bridge from the mainland and take the road to the left.
