Stangeland Gard

Experience historic stays and glamping at Stangeland Gard by the sea on Stolmen, with local food and unique nature adventures all year round.
Stangeland Gard is a family-owned guesthouse on the edge of the sea, where you can stay in hotel rooms taking you back to the 1920s, or sleep under the stars in year-round glamping. Here you can live and experience authentic island life on Stolmen, right among the 667 islands of Austevoll, with the North Sea as your closest neighbour. The place also offers charming venues for special celebrations or meetings and conferences.
AccommodationIn the main house, you’ll find four hotel rooms decorated in 1920s style, and in the yard there are four glass cabins available all year round. Here, old meets new to invite sweet dreams and restful sleep in fresh island air and peaceful surroundings. For breakfast, you can enjoy local ingredients such as homemade jams, honey, and cereals.
When booking a room, you can also order lunch to enjoy on the farm or take with you on a picnic hike. In the evening, it’s possible to pre-order a supper platter, pizza, or cheese board when you reserve your room. If you’re in the mood for a finer dinner or á la carte, you are warmly recommended to visit Bekkjarvik Gjestgiveri or Mirabelle by Ørjan Johannessen, both just ten minutes away by car. Transport can be arranged if needed. For larger groups, Stangeland Gard can serve dinner with booking at least one week in advance.
Farm ShopThe farm shop is open every other weekend, and more frequently during summer. Here you can buy locally produced goods such as knitwear, soaps, honey, and other local food products. Maybe you’ll find a gift for someone you care about. If the shop is closed during your stay, it can be opened for overnight guests.
ActivitiesRight outside the door you will find beautiful hiking trails, both short and long. At Globen, there is a 500-metre boardwalk accessible to everyone, leading to the island’s viewpoint. To feel the raw power of nature, you can walk to Vågholmen in the south, where the sea breaks against the rocks — safe at a distance, yet close enough to feel the force. Stolmen offers experiences for young and old alike.
At Stangeland Gard, you should feel at home and truly enjoy your stay. Welcome!
