Storedal Cultural Center is a park and cultural facility located in scenic surroundings in Skjeberg outside of Sarpsborg.

The initiator and founder was Erling Stordahl (1923 – 1994). Erling Stordahl, who himself became visually impaired at the age of 13, took over the farm Storedal from his father in 1957. He wanted to make something more out of the area. His idea was to create a cultural facility for the experience of nature and art - for all people - but specially adapted for the visually impaired. The facility was created by artists, scientists and garden architects.

In the facility you will find the sound sculpture "Ode to the Light" by Arnold Haukeland with music by Arne Nordheim, an outdoor amphitheater and a sensory garden with over 200 plants.

Storedal has its own petroglyph exhibition with approx. 30 different motifs that have been reconstructed from various places in Østfold.

In addition to the sensory garden, Storedal Cultural Center has a sculpture park where the Japanese artist Kazuhiro Nomura is represented with several sculptures.

Storedal has a cultural center with the possibility of renting premises for both courses/meetings and parties. Contact us on tel. + 47 971 17 389 or [email protected] for more information/booking.

The gardens are always open to the public, if you want a guided tour, this can be booked.
