Strømsfoss locks

Strømsfoss lock is a lock facility in the Halden Canal between Øymarksjøen and Aremarksjøen. Strømsfoss locks consists of two lock gates and one lock chamber, and has a lifting height of 2 m. The facility was built in the years 1857 - 1860, at the same time as Ørje locks. The lock channel was blasted out from the rock about 50 meters southeast of the river and the waterfall.

Nearby the locks is the rental cabin "Fjøset" with booking through Oslofjorden Friluftsråd.

At Strømsfoss lock, there is a guest pier upstream of the lock system, west. There is also a guest pier on the west side of Kanaltangen. West of the lock system there is a service house with toilets and showers.
