Svalbard Hotel | The Vault

Svalbard Hotel The Vault opened 1st of February 2018 and is the newest hotel in Longyearbyen. The hotel has 35 rooms in total, with 33 double rooms and 2 single rooms. The hotel offers comfortable and modern rooms in a silent arctic atmosphere.

Svalbard The Vault is inspired by Svalbard Global Seed Vault, which is a seed storage that countries from all over the world has sent seeds in boxes for storage. Here on Svalbard we have permafrost, which allows the seeds to be stored dry and cold all year round. At Svalbard Hotel The Vault you can find photos and information from the seed vault, a world map with information about which countries who has stored seeds in the Svalbard Global Seed Vault and the staff will of course help you to answer questions about the global seed vault.
