Discover the Animals at Tangen Zoo - just about an hour north of Oslo
Tangen Dyrepark is a charming and family-friendly zoo, home to more than 200 animals across 32 species – from Nordic wildlife to exotic favourites. Here, you can meet everything from zebras and camels to reptiles, small primates, hoofed animals and many other fascinating residents.
The animals live in beautiful natural surroundings, close to the park’s walking paths. Several enclosures are designed to allow visitors to get closer to the animals, creating memorable encounters for both children and adults. Animal feed is available for purchase (where permitted), adding an extra interactive element to your visit.
Take a Break – Play & Relax
At the lower part of the park, you’ll find a playground and seating areas perfect for a family break. The on-site kiosk offers food and refreshments, making it easy to relax and recharge before continuing your adventure. Prefer to bring your own picnic? You’re more than welcome to do so.
Get Even Closer to the Animals
For an even more unique experience, visitors can book special activities at Tangen Zoo. Spend a day as a zookeeper and take part in feeding sessions, enjoy close encounters with selected animals, and learn more about nature and animal welfare. You can also book exclusive visits with lemurs and foxes, or celebrate a birthday in the park with a tailor-made experience.
Easy to Reach
Tangen Zoo is conveniently located in Tangen, right by the E6 highway, just 25 km south of Hamar. It’s an ideal destination for a day trip — or a pleasant stop along your journey through Eastern Norway.
