Tempelfjorden and Tunabreen Glacier Safari – Hurtigruten Svalbard
This boat trip takes you to the mighty glacier front of Tunabreen. You'll travel through beautiful fjords and majestic landscapes. Includes some local history, as we pass Villa Fredheim: the home and hunting base of the old trapper Hilmar Nøis
Your guide will pick you up from your hotel and take you to the harbour in Longyearbyen, where the enclosed speedboat Kvitbjørn awaits.
This modern 14.9-metre boat seats 12 passengers comfortably.
The tour begins by rounding Revneset and heading east. We stop at Diabas, a bird cliff bustling with life, and pass Villa Fredheim before reaching the impressive glacier front of Tunabreen in Tempelfjorden. If lucky, you may witness ice calving into the sea.
We’ll stay on the boat, enjoying the view from the aft deck, with hot drinks and freshly baked buns before returning to Longyearbyen.

Practical information
We recommend that you dress warmly, with a wind jacket, warm hat and mittens. Although the inside of the boat is heated, it is nice to spend some time on the outer deck as well.
This tour is subject to weather conditions, particularly in regards to wind and waves. We do not recommend this tour if you are pregnant or have back problems.

Language
Safety is our highest priority, and the guide needs to be able to give instructions that you understand. To participate in this tour, it is therefore required that you speak and understand English or one of the Scandinavian languages.
