Visit one of the largest battleship-cannons put on land in Europe during the second World War. With its four guns it became the largest and most powerful battery along the 5000 km long Atlantic Wall, and today these cannons are the only ones still intact and possible to visit.
The four guns formed the most powerful battery along Hitler’s 5,000-kilometre Atlantic Wall and are the only guns of their kind that can still be viewed in their entirety.
During the guided tour, a cannon expert will take you through the entire installation, including the gun turret, ammunition rooms and engine room.
Visit the Adolf Gun – Important Information
Monday to Friday at 12:00, all year round
- The Adolf Gun is located inside the military area at Trondenes.
- All guests must bring valid photo identification, such as a passport, driving licence or national ID card.
- Guests must have their own vehicle-car, motorcycle or motorhome to drive through the military area to the gun.
- Please arrive at least 10 minutes before departure.
- Tickets must be booked in advance.
Children under 16 are admitted free of charge and do not need to bring identification.
Visiting the Gun Without a Car
- We offer return transport from Harstad city centre. Select the ticket including transport when booking. NOK 590
- Departure from the city centre at 11:30. Places are limited, so advance booking is required.
During the peak season, such as the summer holidays, we occasionally add extra capacity. Find updated departure times and directions.
Group Visits
- Visits outside the regular departure time must be arranged in advance by email.
- Guided tours are available in several languages.
