The Birkebeiner path Åmot - Lillehammer

  •  /  km From You
Overview

The Birkebeiner path between Rena and Lillehammer is approximately 75 km long. From Rena to Ljøsheim the path is marked with blue signs and from Ljøsheim to Lillehammer it is marked with red signs. The path is mainly in forest terrain, but it also goes through several open areas and ridges giving you a wonderful view of the area. There are good possibilities for picking berries (especially blueberries and cloudberries) if it is a good year for that. Furthermore, there is a varied wildlife and the river Åstaelva is popular among anglers. The highest point of the Birkebeiner path is Snørvillen, 995 metres above sea level.
