We tell the story!
This is the coastal museum's slogan. We want to tell stories and convey knowledge in as vividly as possible. Coastal Museum's symbol is the cormorant. Why? Yes, because the cormorant is one of the coast's most distinctive and legendary creatures. In it we find the nature, culture and mystique.
Coastal Museum is one of eight museums in South Trøndelag included in "The national museum network". Nationally and regionally, we will primarily work with coastal culture in recent times and in our times.
The people of Flatevika is an exhibition at the museum depicting life in a fishing village in about 1920. Using digital guide will be told the story of how it was to live in a fishing village.
We also have exhibitions of various archaeological finds from Hitra and Freya.
