Haugaro, the day-trip cabin in Viksdalen, is an easily accessible gem offering breathtaking views with minimal elevation gain. From Viksdalen School, it's a short and family-friendly 20-minute walk to the cabin, beautifully situated in a stunning landscape.

Haugaro is perfect for all ages and abilities. The path is stroller-friendly, making it a great trip for families. Work is underway to improve accessibility and expand parking options, ensuring even more visitors can enjoy the cabin. For those with reduced mobility, it is possible to drive all the way up to the cabin.

The Haugaro day-trip cabin is located near Viksdalen School, where the hike begins.

From E39, drive towards Sande and turn at the junction signposted for Gaularfjellet.

Follow County Road 610 until you reach an intersection, then turn towards Førde.

After about 2 km, you’ll reach Viksdalen. Turn right, and Viksdalen School will be your starting point.

The cabin is equipped with Nynorsk books, a fireplace, and electricity, but overnight stays are not permitted.
