Overview

A popular climbing area. Once getting to the cavern the most daring can continue up the ropes to the balcony-viewpoint above.

The Flakkeheia hills are situated to the west of Birkeland centre. During the last years several tracks have been marked in the area. This one leads to a cavern with a small lake in front and a lofty viewpoint above. The path is marked from the crossroads to the east of Teinefoss Bridge. (An easier way up starts from Nyhus, situated a bit further south along the road to Flakk ) The path follows the cliffs and is steep and lofty. Ropes to hold on to are mounted several places. This is a popular climbing area. Once getting to the cavern the most daring can continue up the ropes to the balcony-viewpoint above.

Starting point - Drive north from Birkeland, turn left to Mosfjell, cross Teinefoss Bridge. The path starts at the crossroads on the other side of the Bridge.
