The Espedalen Round (35,3 km)

"Moderately challenging bicycle ride in varied terrain. The route starts at Ruten Fjellstue or Dalseter Høyfjellshotell, and then follows the dirt-road/tractor track down to the northern end of lake Breidsjøen. Cross the wooden bridge over the river between Breidsjøen and Ramstjern, and continue along the tractor track for another few hundred metres. Follow the road left through a spectacular pine woodland covered in a carpet of lichen. By Espedalen Fjellstue, it is possible to return to the starting point via route 255. To continue, follow the tractor track (300 m) to Vendlivegen. Cross the road and head south along the track/trail through the forest. Then continue along the western side of lake Espedalsvatnet until you reach the mountain road to Vassenden. Pick up route 255 and follow this back (north) to the starting point. This moderately challenging bicycle ride in varied terrain is a trip around Espedalen’s watercourses along trails, tractor tracks, and dirt/tarmac roads. From Vassenden, Helvete Nature Park is within easy reach. Allow approx. 1 hour for your visit. Most of the trip follows route 255.
