The Glass Dome Sotra

Stay in a floating glass dome on Sotra just outside Bergen. To reach the dome, you will need to row a boat, which is available to you throughout your stay.
Enjoy the beautiful nature surrounding this romantic spot. The dome is located in a beatiful cove, close to the sea and surrounded by nature.
Here you can swim and watch the passing boat traffic. Please be aware that there may be some noise from boats or jet skis during the day. Everything is set up for a unique seaside experience.
Please note that this stay is not for everyone. Guests must be able to swim, row, dock the boat properly, and wear life jackets when using the boat. You are responsible for your own safety.
The Dome
A 12-square-meter glass dome with a double bed, along with a private outdoor area for you to enjoy.
We have done our best to make the dome watertight, but we cannot guarantee that a drop or two of water won't get inside during heavy rain.
There is a simple toilet on the floating platform, and an incinerating toilet located on land, a short distance away — you will need to row to shore to use it.
A small nearby beach is available for swimming.
You have full access to the floating platform with the dome, an incinerating toilet on land, and a lovely beach nearby for swimming.

How to get to The Glass Dome Sotra
By car: The address is Nordre Øyavegen 104. From there, continue straight ahead as far as the road goes, all the way down to the sea. There may be a gate along the road that is sometimes closed due to sheep - in that case, open the gate, drive through, and close it again afterwards.
By bus: It is possible to take the bus from Bystasjonen in Bergen, but note that this should be planned in advance. Take the bus from Bergen Bus Station, platform G, to Straume Terminal. Here you need to change to the Algrøy–Syltøy bus and get off at Langøy Coastal Culture Center. Timetables can be found at Skyss.no, where you can search from Bergen Bus Station to Langøy Coastal Culture Center. The journey takes about 1 hour, but during weekends or times with infrequent departures, it can take up to 2 hours.
Some guests also choose to take a taxi.
