This museum invites both fun and reflection on a serious topic

The National Museum Of Justice is the national museum for the police, the judiciary and the correctional system. The museum displays objects from Norwegian legal history from the 17th century to the present day, from methods of punishment to modern criminal cases.

Try on a police uniform, lift a real prison iron, sit in a judge’s chair or see the executioner’s axe. The museum is housed in two buildings: the criminal asylum and the old military hospital. Entry is free for children under 16, with free museum bingo and activities.
