Step aboard for an unforgettable evening adventure with our Northern Lights Chase by train, departing from Narvik.

Join us on this unique journey as we travel along the historic Ofoten Railway, far away from city lights and noise. This is more than just a train ride - it’s a memorable quest into the Arctic night, in search of one of nature’s most spectacular phenomena, the Aurora Borealis. With the dark sky surrounding us, we'll have exellent conditions for spotting the northern lights. Our destination is Katterat, located 373 meters above sea level. It’s completely off the road network, making it one of the darkest places in the region to search for the Aurora.

At Katterat station, we’ll step off the train into the stillness of the wilderness, gathering around a cozy campfire under the open sky. A spacious lavvu nearby provides additional warmth and shelter, creating the ideal atmosphere for enjoying the moment. Your host will serve hot drinks and a snack to enjoy as we wait for the northern lights to appear, making the moment even more comfortable and magical.

During the stop, you’ll also hear stories about the area, the railway, and life in the Arctic – adding depth and insight to this unique experience. Whether the Aurora dances across the sky or the arctic silence surrounds us, the setting at Katterat is unforgettable.

Afterward, we’ll return to the train and begin our journey back to Narvik, hopefully bringing with you magical memories and breathtaking images from this unforgettable experience.
