The Valberg lake
Valbergtjenna & Lovisenbergkollen belongs a large hiking-terrain on the peninsula Langtangen. In the wintertime, the lake is used as ice skating arena. From Lovisenbergkollen you can enjoy beautiful views! (Lifjell/the entire archipelago)
The Valberg lake (Valbergtjenna) is an artificially constructed lake that was put to use in the mid 1800s for ice export. Today is is a popular nature area used for hiking and ice skating in the winter.
A trip can also be combined with a walk to Lovisenbergkollen (186 m.a.s.l.). Lovisenbergkollen on Langtangen peninsula has perhaps Kragerø finest views. You will see Lifjell in the north and the entire archipelago in the south. The name comes from the magnificent fancy farm Lovisenberg which was built to merchant Georg Christian Heuch and Lovise Christense Mills (f. Krafft) their wedding in 1788. The hiking trail starts by the old house by the Valberg lake.
You can park your car either at Berg- Museum Kragerø or by the road leading down towards the lake from the Valbergveien.
If you have any questions the Kragerø Trekking Association will help you!
