The history of the local waterways conveyed through playing with water, in a 45 meters long copy of Morgedalsvassdraget.
In June 2022, a 45-metre-long replica of the Morgedalsvassdraget opened outside the ski museum, which is situated right next to the E134. Here the children can play with floating logs and try their hand at generating electricity.
It was in the 17th century that timber rafting began on a larger scale in the local rivers. Transport of timber was an important part of the industry in upper Telemark right up until the 1950s.
A copy of the Morgedalvassdraget in the outdoor area in front of Norsk Skieventyr is a nice attraction in the village. It conveys an important part of the village's history through physical installations. Diverse use of water is in focus. Water has always provided a basis for activity and food. We wish to convey the early use of timber floating, operation of saws and mills and what this meant for settlement.
