Tindevegen is a beautiful mountain road between Årdal and Turtagrø (32 km) in Norway. This is a tourist road that takes you from Sognefjorden to Jotunheimen.
Along the road, you can experience the great views of magnificent scenery and the impressive peaks of the Jotunheimen mountains. Just a short walk from the road, you can enjoy fantastic panoramic views of the Hurrungane peaks and Store Skagastølstind mountain in the east, and of the inner reaches of the Sognefjord and Skjolden in the west. It is a spectacular and beautiful road with hairpin turns and breathtaking views.
The road to the summit is paved but pretty narrow and steep. Tindevegen is also called “the shortcut through Jotunheimen” as it is the shortest alternative route between Bergen and Trondheim that doesn’t involve a ferry.
Tindevegen is an automatic toll road - driveable for motorbikes, private cars, camper vans and caravans, and smaller busses (max 10m). 90 NOK per cars.
The road is open from May to November - and closed during winter time.
