Storebjørn is one of the absolutely finest mountains in Jotunheimen. It has a sheer drop on all sides apart from the north face on which the Bjørnebreen Glacier goes right to the top. This summit glacier is accessible from several angles, all of which offer spectacular impressions of the Smørstabb range and of the glacier.

Ski trip to storebjørn
Powdery or wet snow? Norgesguidene Guides arrange ski trips to the top of Storebjørn,at 7288 feet, until well through June every year.

Storebjørn is the highest of the nine Smørstabbtindane peaks and our most popular hike.

The top glacier can be approached from many sides, with splendid views towards the massif of Smørstabbtindane and the glacier. Long tour; you should be in reasonably good condition.
