Tougher hike than Gaustatoppen. However, you will get a great view towards Gaustatoppen and Tuddal. The trip is about 3 km and takes about 2 hours each way
Toreskyrkja is a mountain ranging 1371 metres above sea level, sticking up in the mountain massif between Kvitåvatn, Gaustablikk and Heddersvatn by Stavsro. At the top there is a wonderful view towards Tuddal and mountains south in Telemark. Gaustatoppen is also a great sight from Toreskyrkja.
There is a T-marked trail that starts at Kvitåvatn, up to the top - a trip that is more demanding than the trip from Stavsro to Gaustatoppen.
The trail starts at 958 meters above sea level. Which means a total climb of 433 meters.
The trail goes through mountain terrain with passage of stone blocks, so it requires hiking boots with good ankle support for a safe trip.
The trip is about 3 km one way and takes about 2 hours one way.
Driving Directions
Follow FV 651 from Rjukan or Tuddal. By Svineroi follow the signs for "Destination Gaustatoppen" and Gaustablikk Høyfjellshotell. Follow Kvitåvatnvegen to Vatnedalen.
