The Torpo and Opheimsåsen area has over 62 km of prepared cross-country ski tracks through holiday villages. Several roundtrips of varying length. The terrain is gently rolling, becoming steeper further into the mountains.
Picnic areas and kiosks
There are three areas where you can take a picninc and the children can play in the toboggan.
- At the lavvo at Nystølane within Helsingset, near the parking lot.
- A grill hut at Venehaug, along the trail between Økne and Ringhovd.
- At the lavvo between Hovdestølen and Sjauset.
The kiosk at Opheimsstølane is open every winter holiday and Easter, and Gaurhovd is also open at Easter.
The track from Bergsjø via Votndalsåsen and Torpo-Opheimsåsen towards Gol is a part of the northern Hallingdal route.
Take off from state Highway 7 at Torpo and follow the road to Opheim and further to Ringhovd and Øknin. Or you can drive state Highway 7 to Gullhagen/ Hallingmøbler and follow the road to Votndalen and Svarthamar. See the ski trail map.
It is toll road on the mountain roads to Oppheims- and Torpoåsen. For more information regarding prices, see the individual toll road. You will often find there is a parking fee on the parking spots during winter season.
