Rakkestadfjella By: Linken Malene Raeng Out on the moor, small trees stand knee-deep in the peat moss. Around them, moss and yellow-brown grass sway in the fresh north wind. From the car park, the blue-marked track leads through a logging field and up over some elongated hills, and after a nice stroll on the forest path we look out over Svarttjern. The path takes us further through the pine forest and up to the beautiful marsh Smalen, which we cross on stilts. Soon we will arrive at the memorial stone for the airdrop that took place here in April 1945; the stone was originally intended to be part of the German Reich's victory monument. Here there is also a well-used gap hut with benches and a fire pit, suitable for a rest regardless of the weather. The blue-marked trail takes us further on the round, and on the way we swing by "Høla"; a hiding place for weapons and ammunition during the war. "Høla" is still well hidden and the stone that tells you that you are in the right place is not visible from the path, but if you follow the blue markings in Slavic you will find it. Back on the blue-marked path towards Korperudmoen, we stroll the last bit northwards along the east side of Smalen, in the direction of the car park.
