Treetop cottages at the border

Sweet dreams and safe vacation - more than 8 metres above the forest ground - and in close contact with the nature, birds and the animals of the forest.
Overnight Stay in a Treetop Cabin – in an old Forest Outside Halden!
More than eight meters above the forest floor, among the treetops, you can now stay safely and comfortably.
We currently have two cabins, Elghytta and Beverhytta.
The treetop cabins offer stunning views of the forest landscape and water, with close contact with nature, birds, and wildlife.
Both treetop cabins are winter-insulated, wood-fired, and equipped with a kitchenette that includes a stove and refrigerator. There is a composting
toilet inside and an outhouse at ground level. Hot and cold water is available in the tap. The cabins are fully equipped with everything you need
for a comfortable and unique stay in the trees – right in the heart of nature – all year round – for you and your loved ones!
Beverhytta is universally accessible, making it easy for wheelchair users or those with strollers to enter. It features a ramp with a nine-degree
incline. This cabin is slightly larger than Elghytta, with a more spacious bathroom and living area.
Unfortunately, dogs are not allowed in Beverhytta, as we also need to accommodate guests with allergies.
The height of the cabins above ground ensure they are free from mosquitoes and midges.
Each cabin has access to a private boat, a wooden "Tunejolle." The boat is located on the water below the cabins, where you can fish, observe
beaver lodges, and possibly spot a beaver in action. A trip on the water is highly recommended, as the area is rich in birdlife and beautiful nature.
The surrounding area offers great hiking terrain. Take a trip to the highest point in the area, Akselås, where, on clear days, you can see all the
way to Gaustatoppen. In winter, when there is snow, you can bring your own skis or try ice fishing when the water is frozen.
The cabins have three double beds and an additional sleeping option if the sofa benches are used, accommodating a maximum of seven people
per cabin.
Elghytta includes a detailed orienteering map of the area, which can be used for hiking and cycling. There is also a marked trail with side paths
leading to scenic spots. Bringing your own compass is recommended.
Price: From NOK 2,990 to NOK 4,990 per cabin per night, regardless of whether one or seven people stay. Firewood, gas, and all necessary
kitchen supplies for meal preparation are included in the price. These are available in the cabin. However, bringing your own spices and oils is
recommended.
