Join with us on an exciting and unforgettable two day snowmobile trip to Pyramiden. Witness spectacular nature, Svalbard’s unique wildlife and Pyramiden, an abandoned Russian mining town frozen in time.

** Day 1**

The first day begins with pickup from your hotel and transport down to our headquarters. Here we give a briefing about the upcoming trip and the route choices, before we dress in warm snowmobile touring clothing and load our other equipment onto the snowmobile sledges. We drive due north through some of the most breathtaking Arctic scenery that Svalbard has to offer; through glacial valleys, over glaciers, and on the frozen surface of the sea. We take various short breaks along the way, to warm up with a cup of coffee, or to visit an historic trapper’s cabin, or just to switch off the engines completely and enjoy the true silence that only the Arctic can deliver. We will arrive in Pyramiden late-afternoon and check in to our rooms at Hotel Tulipan. After we have settled in then it is time for a private guided tour of Pyramiden, and if possible we may even have access to some of the buildings. We eat a hot expedition lunch on the way to Pyramiden and take our evening meal at the hotel.

Day 2

After breakfast we prepare for our return to Longyearbyen, which begins with a visit to one of the most impressive glaciers on Svalbard. Nordenskiöldbreen is a very active glacier, with a high glacier front, which often results in the famous glacial blue colour. We hope to see wildlife on the sea ice, and this can be anything from seals or Arctic foxes up the King of the Arctic himself, the polar bear. We return to town via the Nordenskiöld glacier, a vantage point overlooking the surrounding fjords, a frozen waterfall, and much more; our guides will ensure that nothing is missed out. They have all the experience and drive to make this an unforgettable experience, while remaining safe in such a wild and unforgiving environment. We recommend that everyone drives their own snowmobile; this is easier than driving with a passenger. This trip is dependent on weather and ice conditions, especially early and late in the season, as well as a minimum number of participants.
