Uburen

Uburen is the hallmark at the crossing of the Lysefjord with the Høgsfjord, right behind the town of Forsand.
The hike to Uburen is moderately demanding and is 5.2 kilometres long. The hike is a round trip in the same direction and takes about 2 hours and 30 minutes to reach the top. If you're travelling with children, you'll need to calculate a little longer.
How do you get to Uburen?Follow Rv 13 to the Lysefjord bridge. Continue over the bridge and follow the fv. 491 signposted to Helle. Follow the road until you come to a sign for ‘Natursti’. The trail starts and ends here. There is a car park at Rossavikheia just off road 491.
When is the season for the hike to Uburen? You can walk to Uburen from April - October.
Tour descriptionThe first part of the hike is up a steep and winding cart track. This is actually an old construction road that Lyse Kraft built when they laid power lines across Uburen. Gradually, the landscape opens up and the cart track becomes a clear path. After passing the power lines that span Høgsfjorden, you reach the 440 metre high summit. Just below you are Forsand, Høgsfjorden and the Lysefjord estuary. On a clear day, you can see both Kvitsøy and Karmøy in the distance. Take the same route back.
