Fetsund Lenser - a national heritage monument, timberfloating museum and nature centre

Fetsund timber booms is a national heritage site just 30 minutes from Oslo.  Experience log-driving history in authentic surroundings and a beautiful natural setting.

The log driving museum has several in and outdoor exhibitions telling the story of log driving in Norway. The log sorting and bundling facilities in the river are accessible by more than 1 km of floating pathways.  

Situated in beautiful nature surroundings along the river Glomma, Fetsund timber booms offer a large recreational area for the public. Here you find outdoor exhibitions and nature trails, a childrens playground, places for picnics, barbeques, opportunities for fishing and exploring.

Wake up in one of the historical, wooden resting barracks at Fetsund timber booms, with a beautiful view of the river Glomma and its scenic nature. Some decades ago, this was where the log drivers had their meals and got some rest during working hours. 

The green barrack is for max 6 pax with 2 double bunk beds and perfect for families. NOK 2900,- a night.

The blue barrack is for 2 pax with two single beds and perfect for couples or friends. NOK 2000,- a night

Both barracks have an authentic look with a table, stools and small shelfs. 

Toilet facilities are situated ashore a few yards away. Its also possible to use a simple pump shower.  

Breakfast basket is included in the price (typical Norwegian breakfast, buns, egg, cheese, ham, juice etc) delivered in the morning.

After checking in its possible to bury dinner/lunch at Bryggekafeen situated at the quay at Fetsund Lenser

A 300 m2 children-friendly centre with lot of interactivity, prize-winning architecture and exhibitions with focus on regional nature and wetlands. Nature trail, beautiful surroundings and a walk path following the river through the museum area Cafe and shops.
