Overview

Uthaugsgården was built around 1740 and was bought by the Lund family in 1829. In 1859 the main activity besides farming was fishing and trading with fish. The fish, which was salted and dried, down at the seaside, and then sold, also to foreign markets. They sailed their own wessels along the coast to Bergen and from there to other European countries.

The house consists of more than 40 rooms. Much of the furniture and equipment was bought on trade travels abroad. You will see a developement of about 250 years, which shows the different activities and also family life.
