Visit the summer farm Uvssætra in Oppdal. Full of life with domestic animals like cows, goats, rabbits, mini-pigs, chickens and a proud rooster.
Experience traditional summer farming in Oppdal. Uvssætra in Dindalen is a beautiful hike and provides an excellent cultural experience. Here you can meet the farm animals and try the sour cream that they produce in this idyllic summer farm.Approximately three kilometers into a valley called Dindalen lies Uvssætra. This valley is a popular hiking destination for everyone, especially the youngest.
Dindalen is a valley with numerous old summer farms, and is an excellent area for hiking, suitable for all, either by foot or by bike. To get to Uvssætra you merely follow a dirt road, also suited for strollers.
At Uvssætra the hosts Elisabeth and Hans Ole Uv have recreated the summer farm, as it once was. Full of life with domestic animals like cows, goats, rabbits, mini-pigs, chickens and a proud rooster. There is no electricity at the farm; therefore the milking is done by portable generator every morning and evening. The milk is then separated and used to produce sour cream.
The old smokehouse has been restored and is now a cafeteria where you can order traditional meals as the norwegian porridge made of sour cream, and cured meats. And of course, the delicious waffles. These may very well be the best you have ever had.
Uvssætra is open to everyone in the school holiday (Juni-August).
