Ola Sendstad's project "Crossroads" at Hundorp Station is an exploration of people's relationship with the now-abandoned railway station.
Ola Sendstad’s project “Crossings” at Hundorp station explores the local community’s relationship with the disused railway station. Today, the station is quiet and ambient, without any departures or arrivals being announced. People still see this as a public space, but it is rarely visited and is slowly being claimed back by nature.
Throughout spring and summer 2017, people have been invited to experience and talk about the station. This has aroused people’s interest, and has temporarily given new life to the abandoned building. The various meetings at the station have been well attended, and have resulted in many compelling, funny, and slightly strange stories. Fragments of these conversations have been put together in a location-specific audio system that is played outdoors via a tannoy speaker similar to the ones used at stations in operation. The audio installation's stories are played at irregular intervals, and will run indefinitely – or maybe until the station again is put to use?
