#Kroppen13 is an exercise machine and artwork made by the artist Anders Jakobsen.
Anders Jacobsen’s work “#kroppen13” is a sculpture doubling as an exercise station. Situated between Stavsplassen and Moksa, it defines and brings alive an area in general not considered a place of interest. The sculpture gives new meaning to the term “applied arts” by encouraging people to engage with the structure, and by creating a meeting point that inspires and can be used by everyone; – let your body experience #kroppen13.
Both the sculpture and its surrounding installations exhibit traditional craftsmanship in timber and wood, with new contexts of interpretation. Small trees and shrubs keeping Moksa hidden from view have been cleared and reused in the installation.
Øyer municipality’s contribution to Vegskille has had Meeting Points as sub-topic. For this project, the village of Tretten has been in focus.
Anders Jakobsen is a visual artist, and works mainly with wood to create expressions rooted in traditional Swedish woodwork – with striking combinations and use of colours. www.radicalsloyd.com
