When you stay at Vertshuset Røros, you will find yourself literally at the centre of the World Heritage Site. Røros is an unparalleled town setting. A stay with us will give you a glimpse into what life has been like for people in Røros through the ages.
When you stay with us, you will live, eat and drink well, in a place where history is whispered in the walls. Rammgården features 6 apartments and 17 rooms of hotel standard, with en suite facilities, telephone and television. Our apartments have two bedrooms and a living room with room for an extra bed.
All units are decorated in traditional Røros Style, but each has its own character and its own story to tell.
A carefully kept secret is hidden behind the stylish façade of Vertshuset Røros and Rammgården – a charming courtyard where the storehouses, portal and lofts have been restored in partnership with the Norwegian Directorate for Cultural Heritage.
Brødrene Krogs Ullvarefabrikk
The old Krog Brothers Woollen Mill, built in 1914, is a listed building and a monument to an industrial era now over.
The converted mill features 15 ultra-modern and versatile rooms that can be used as seven very comfortable apartments.
“Almost too good to be true”, someone once said about our restaurant. Others have called it a “gold strike.” When you walk in, you will be transported to the age when the middle classes of Røros decorated their homes according to the latest fashions in Europe. Our cuisine reflects this confluence of local and international tradition. The dishes are prepared mainly from local ingredients produced in the Røros area, many of them organically grown or free-range. And the mountain trout you are served here is caught in icy mountain waters.
