Vestfossen Kunstlaboratorium
Vestfossen Kunstlaboratorium has a unique history. Established in 1886, the premises that house the Kunstlaboratorium were previously a paper and cellulose factory. The factory closed in 1970 and stood vacant for over twenty years until the artist Morten Viskum bought the building in 2001.
From 2001 to 2003, workers transformed the old factory premises into an art exhibition space. With its unique and rugged character, the building today is a particularly successful example of the reuse of older architecture and a historical frame for contemporary artistic expressions.
Vestfossen Kunstlaboratorium is now an art centre that showcases high-quality international contemporary art. Art has become accessible to everyone.
