Vettisfossen Viewpoint in beautiful Utladalen Valley in Årdal
This summer of 2023 a the new viewpoint above the Vettisfossen waterfall in Utladalen will open. The view point is a corten steel ramp, placed with a slight cantilever above the waterfall gorge to ensure that visitors can see the entire waterfall in all its glory from top to bottom. The location has been designed so that visitors do not have to climb over the fence and onto the edge of the gorge to get the best view.
The path to and from the viewpoint has also been laid in the terrain to ensure the least possible wear and tear, and exposed areas will be revegetated in the summer of 2023. We encourage everyone to follow the marked path, and not go outside the fence.
The trip from Årdal starts at the car park at Hjelle, where the trip into the Utladalen landscape conservation area starts. First you walk on the beautiful gravel road to Vetti Gard for about 5 km, before turning off to the right to follow the path up the mountainside to the top of the waterfall. You can count +/- 1 hour on the ascent from Vetti gard to the viewpoint.
