Nordfjordeid is known for the famous Myklebust Ship – and now children can embark on their very own Viking adventure!

At Hamna, you’ll find a unique Viking-inspired climbing room, the only one of its kind in Norway.

Here, it’s “everything in one fjord”: children can climb aboard a Viking ship in battle with the Midgard Serpent, explore mountains and glaciers, and take on an exciting obstacle course. The elements are inspired by Viking swords, shields, ropes, and fishing nets – creating a playful and active experience.

Can you run up the wave crashing against Selje Monastery, or will you slide back down?

This activity challenges strength, balance, and coordination – and parents are encouraged to join in the fun. If you need a break, you can relax with a cup of coffee from the reception while the adventure continues.

Safety and practical information:
● Climbing shoes or indoor shoes are required. Climbing shoes can be purchased in the shop or rented at reception (NOK 50).
● All children must be accompanied by an adult responsible for their safety during the visit.
● All visitors must familiarize themselves with the “Safe Child Guidelines.”
● Age limit: 3–12 years (with parent/guardian)

Drop-in access includes the entire Hamna Activity Center – including the bouldering hall, children’s climbing area, gym, and group classes.

There is also a climbing shop on site, and the option to arrange birthday parties.
