At Reinsvangen, you can park and take a shuttle bus to Gjendeosen – a natural starting point for the hike across Besseggen. Here you’ll also find Café Gjendeosen, offering meals, kiosk items, and souvenirs. You can buy a ready-made packed lunch to bring on your hike!
Valdresflye Kafé is located at the highest point on the mountain plateau and serves mountain food with a view. The café is also close to several popular summit hikes, making it a natural stop both before and after your trip.
Visit Gjende operates these services on behalf of Statens Vegvesen, with the aim of making great nature experiences even better – through practical facilitation and good service.
