This trip goes from Haugesund to Nedstrand, where you have time to hike to the top of Himakånå mountain or spend the day at the climbing park “Høyt og Lavt”, before you return back to Haugesund.
Himakånå is a rock formation 357 metres above sea level. Many refers to Himakånå as Trolltunga’s little sister. This is due to the hike being more modest, family friendly and accessible. However, the view is equally impressive. The trail runs through mountain pastures, small forests and fields. From the top you will be rewarded with panoramic view of Lysevatnet lake, Nedstrandsfjord and the farms surrounded by lush forests. The hike takes around 2 hours return.
A different option is to spend the day at the climbing park “Høyt og Lavt” in Nedstrand. The climbing park consist of 5 different trails with different elements and ziplines. From the tree tops you can enjoy beautiful view of the fjord. It is a great place to bring kids as the trails have different difficulty levels. The park also houses a café and picnic areas.
After spending the day hiking or challenging yourself at the climbing park you return to Haugesund by bus.
