Hardanger Akvasenter is an informative visitor center for aquaculture. It includes a modern, interactive exhibition in the Hardangerbadet building in Øystese and a floating salmon farm in full production on the Hardangerfjord. The exhibition in Øystese, which opened in March 2020, gives you an insight into the life cycle of the salmon and information about modern salmon production. At the salmon farm, you can attend the feeding process and see the jumping salmon. You can also observe the swimming salmon with an underwater camera, and you will learn more about the life cycle of the salmon, from hatching to served delicacy. RIB transportation and guided tours at the salmon farm can be booked at the visitor center in Øystese.



At Hardanger Akvasenter's homepage, you will find more information and a timetable for fixed tours. Outside those and outside the high season, guided tours must be booked in advance by telephone or email.



The exhibition in Øystese is open all year round and free of charge.
