Walk along Løvstien

Enjoy the view of Bergen valley between Mount Løvstakken and Mount Ulriken, two of the seven mountains surrounding Bergen.
The hiking trail known as Løvstien, along Mount Løvstakken, has become Bergen's new hiking attraction, both for locals and tourists. The reason for this is the new 383-meter-long pedestrian bridge that connects the two parts of Løvstien, allowing you to walk from Melkeplassen to Fjøsanger. Løvstien begins at Øvre Riplegården 44 on the Melkeplassen side and at Langeskogen on the Fjøsanger side.
The trail is 6.4 kilometers if you opt for the full walk from end to end, but feel free to turn back whenever you like. If your interest lies solely in walking the new pedestrian bridge, you can access it from Kristian Bings vei 9. Please note that access involves stairs with a ramp. We suggest taking bus number 10 to Kristian Bings vei for convenient access, followed by a short 10-minute walk to reach the bridge.
Cycling on the road is permitted. The route is mostly flat, making it suitable for people of all ages, including children and adults, as well as for strollers.
Public transport:
To get to Langeskogen, Øvre Kråkenes 27, we recommend bus number 14 and number 15 to Kråkenes. To get to Øvre Riplegården 44 at Melkeplassen, you can take bus number 19 to Melkeplassen. Check skyss.no/en for departure times. If you have the Bergen Card, the bus fare is included in your card.
If you prefer to walk on the pedestrian bridge only, you can catch bus number 10 to Kristian Bings vei. At Kristian Bings vei number 9, you'll find stairs, a ramp, and a footpath. It will take you around 10 minutes to walk from here to the bridge.
Parking:
At the Fjøsanger side, there is paid parking at Casperkollen at the entrance to Langeskogen. At Melkeplassen, parking is limited, and public transportation is your best option.
Duration and season:
The hike can be done all year round, and you should allow approximately 2 hours for the trip.
