Art, architecture, history
If you walk the Pilgrim path past Eidsvoll Church, you’ll find Wergelandshaugen down the sunken lane. The 1920s Magistrate’s Villa has been restored and is now home to a new art centre.
Traditional craftsmanship and historical references have been guiding principles for the restoration process. Eventually, the centre will include a large studio as well as facilities for resident artists. The villa will host a variety of cultural events, and be a place for children and youth to experience art.
The guided tours at Wergelandshaugen are based around the diverse cultural history of the area, and the architecture and history of the house itself.
