Vestkapp is the westernmost mountain plateau on mainland Norway. From the Kjerringa plateau on Stadhalvøya, 496 meters above Stadhavet, one of the most spectacular viewpoints along the entire Norwegian coastline unfolds before you.

The mountain plateau is almost flat at the top and drops steeply into the sea. The area is known for its highly changeable and extreme weather, ranging from mirror-calm waters to storms and hurricanes, and the sea route around Stad is considered one of the most weather-exposed and treacherous waters in Norway.

Hiking on Stadhalvøya is a truly unique experience – here you are high in the mountains while having the open ocean stretching out right in front of you. At the summit, you’ll find Vestkapp Café, with large windows and views that are rarely matched.
