Experience the thrill of watching whales in the splendor of Arctic fjords.

This tour is conducted by Rødne Fjord Cruise.

Humpbacks bursting out of the sea as they breach. Orca (Killer Whale) pods breaking the surface during their hunt for herring. Our fast and modern catamarans MS Rygerdronningen and MS Rygertroll take you on a memorable guided cruise to the feeding grounds of these amazing, graceful giants. We set off from Tromsø in our warm and comfortable boat to search for ‘treasures’ in the far north: Humpback and Fin whales, Orcas, Harbor Porpoises birds and wildlife, including reindeer on the beautiful mountainsides. Our expert guide will point out and tell your all about each of them.

Second chance guarantee! Our crews do everything possible to find whales for you on this safari. However, wild animals never accept bookings so if you don’t see whales or orcas, we’ll give you a voucher for a free second chance on our next available whale safari the same season.

Most departures of this tour are operated by MS Rygerdronningen at 8:30 AM. During the main season and in case of high demand, we set up an extra boat departure at 9:00 AM with MS Rygertroll.

MS Rygerdronningen is a spacious, luxurious and environmentally friendly catamaran. The boat is stable, even in rough seas, and is fast. Her top speed of nearly 20 knots lets us reach the whales quickly. MS Rygertroll is a slightly smaller catamaran that can travel even faster than MS Rygerdronningen and is used for extra departures at 9:00 AM in the main season.

Both boats have a kiosk on board offering irresistible pastries, hot or cold drinks and a hearty soup to warm you up. Enjoy the breathtaking views of spectacular whales and Arctic landscapes from the comfort of our luxurious cabin with panoramic windows. Then head out in the brisk polar air of our spacious outdoor decks to get ‘up close and personal’.
