Overview

This tour is conducted by Arctic Expedition. From late October to mid-February some of the world's biggest mammals visit the coast outside of Tromsø to feed on herring.

During this period you'll have the highest possibility of seeing a humpback whale, killer whale or harbour porpiose. You can join our daily whale safari from Tromsø City Centre. While sailing towards the whales our experienced guides will tell you more about the communities, the local villages and the fishing industry in the Arctic.

Please note that we cannot guarantee that we will see any mammals during the tour, but we will do our best so you'll experience them as well. Once we have reached the feeding site, you'll have about 1-1,5 hours to explore and take pictures.

During the tour you may purchase something to eat or drink for our café to enjoy with the views. The duration of the tour may vary depending on the whales location.

Included: scenic transport by boat (up to 3 hours one way), safety instructions, knowledgeable English-speaking guide and host, local history, nature and culture, short documentaries and presentations about the whales and the eco-system in the Arctic, thermal winter suit and life jacket, hot coffee, water, tea and biscuits
