This tour is conducted by Explore the Arctic. Small groups – Big experiences Discover the scenic landscapes, impressive fjords, changing winter light and the arctic wildlife outside the spectacular island of Kvaløya.
Our highly qualified local guides provide a unique and unforgettable adventure with a personal touch.
Something for everyone
During the trip you will learn about the history, landscape and wildlife of the incredible island of Kvaløya. You will get the chance to see the characteristic island Håja, which gave its shape to the Arctic Cathedral of Tromsø. Ersfjord, Skamtind and Sommarøya are also often approached during our boat cruises. We also get close encounters with the local wildlife, which can include porpoises, sea eagles, seals, otters etc. If we are really lucky we can also spot bigger whales, like orcas and humpback whales. We stop several times during the cruise to enjoy the surroundings, take photos and enjoy the scenery. If you like, you could also be given the opportunity to try some fishing. After the trip a warm lunch with local specialties is served accompanied with hot drinks.
Photography
This is a fantastic experience also for photography enthusiasts as we get extremely close to the elements. Throughout the trip we will take stunning photos and we are always glad to share them with you afterwards.
