WWII memorial in the Moe-parken

– A Place for Reflection and History
Moe Park in Verdal is a historic site linked to the battles that took place during the German invasion of Norway in April 1940. Norwegian soldiers fortified themselves in the park to resist the invasion, and intense fighting occurred here, with the involvement of Allied forces.
In 1984, a memorial monument was erected in the park to honour those who fell during World War II. It was established by the Resistance Group 1940–1945, an organisation dedicated to preserving the town's wartime history.
Visiting Moe Park
Moe Park is open to visitors and features information boards providing insights into the history of the monument and other historical landmarks in the area. The park also serves as a recreational space with play and activity areas.
Every year on Liberation Day, 8 May, a memorial ceremony is held at the monument.
Practical Information
Moe Park is centrally located in Verdal and easily accessible. A visit can be combined with other activities in the area, and the information boards in the park offer a good starting point for exploring the local history.
