This week’s best photos show off all of nature’s colours, from spring green to deep purple. Spring is still on the advance through Norway.
It’s been a rather cold week in large parts of Norway. But once the sun peeks through the clouds, a magical transformation happens.
People gather outside to enjoy it. We go out simply to experience the spring. That’s certainly visible in the picture below, takes as the sun appeared over the blossoming trees at Carl Berners plass in Oslo.
Yet in our featured image above, there are no people in sight. Rather we see a sun that has embraced the landscape in a warm, spring hug, melting the winter away. A big thanks to Grete Øiamo for sharing the stunning photo, taken outside Trondheim.

This sunset we wish we could’ve seen with our own, living eyes. The sky is coloured deep purple and pink over the fjord in Kvænangen, in a manner that we rarely get to see. Photo: Jarle Bjerkås.

Last but not least, we have this photo that captures some of the contrasts in the Norwegian landscapes – with the alpine, snow-clad mountains of Lofoten framed by azure waters and a clear blue sky. Photo: Geir Halvard Nilsse.
