The Arctic Race of Norway kicks off in less than three weeks, and the biggest Norwegian bike hero through all times gives his assessment.

Between the 11th and 14th of August, the Arctic Race of Norway kicks off for the fourth time. A total of 22 teams from all over the world will be on the starting line in this year’s edition of the world’s northenmost bike race.

In conjunction with the race, the organizers have sent the best Norwegian bike racer of all time, Thor Hushovd, around the 732 kilometers long route to give his assessment.

Hushovd thinks the third leg will be the thoughest for the racers in the Arctic Race this year.

“The thoughest leg will probably be the one between Nesna and Korgfjellet” Hushovd says to local newspaper, Avisa Nordland.

On his testlap, Huhovd was impressed by the scenery of Helgeland. The racers are going through places like Rognan, Mo i Rana, Sandnessjøen and Korgfjellet. In other words, all is set for some spectacular nature experiences in the northernmost region of the country.

The Tromsø based band, Violet Road, has promised to make a music video for the Arctic Race of Norway this year. The song that’s to be visualized is of course «Bicycle» of their newest album, according to NRK.

The Arctic Race of Norway 2016 starts in Fauske on August 11th, and ends in Bodø three days later.
