The Norwegian short film «Iconic Norway» directed by film maker Grim Berge in Natural Light AS is in the running to win the Corporate Media & TV Award for Best Photo for Tourism Films in Cannes this September, The Travel Inspector reports.
The Cannes jury has reviewed more than 1000 candidates in the competition, and has now selected three finalists in the Best Photo for Tourism Films, among them is «Iconic Norway».
So regardless of the outcome at the award ceremony, the film is guaranteed an award; the only question is whether it’ll be gold, silver or bronze.
– We are very happy and it’s a big honor. I believe we’ve made a groundbreaking film within its genre and we have spent considerable resources filming it and in post-production, said photographer Sven-Erik Knoff to Visit Norway.
Knoff made the film - which shows beautiful scenic shots from northern Norway all the way to the very south of Norway - with his colleague Grim Berge. The film is also a collaboration with Visit Norway.
Knoff speaks proudly of the response it has received thus far.
– Several people have told us that the film is so moving that it brings them to tears. During one screening we someone remove their glasses in order to wipe the tears away.
The photography duo are not resting on their laurels after the «Iconic Norway» success.
Knoff and Berge have already started working on the sequel.
– We started production in Lindesnes in late June. This production will be even bigger. We have our own drone operator and a lot of collaboration partners, said Sven-Erik Knoff to Visit Norway.
Cannes Corporate Media & TV Awards is being held in Cannes, France on the 27th and 28th of September.
