Standing 6’6” tall and with the body of a Viking God, Norwegian Lasse Matberg is a viral hit online.
There have been quite a few of those enthusiastic outbursts online over the weekend, as the world has taken notice of the 30-year-old Norwegian Navy officer Lasse Matberg. Standing 6’6” tall, with broad shoulders, blond hair and a full beard, he’s being referred to as proof that God exists.
But which god? It’s easy to spot the parallels to the mythological Norse figure, Thor. Thor has recently got the world’s attention as a central character in Marvel’s popular superhero movies, such as The Avengers. He is played by Chris Hemsworth – an Australian.
Hemsworth hasn’t exactly lost in the gene lottery either, but around the web this weekend there’s a lot of voices saying that the Norwegian, Lasse, is the true embodiment of the Norse god.
He’s called a “Viking megahunk” and “real life Thor”, receiving tens of thousands of likes on his Instagram images.
Here’s a few of them, so you can see why:
