Sustainable meetings in a quaint environment

Røros is one of the oldest 'wooden' towns in Europe. A UNESCO World Heritage site, Røros can host meetings for up to 600 delegates.

The charming town of Røros has a population of only around 5,600, but it is a lively community with lots of cosy cafés and restaurants in the centre. Situated 50 minutes by air from Oslo Airport, Røros offers an ideal location if you prefer to arrange your meeting or event in quaint surroundings

The town centre hosts a thriving arts and crafts community, with workshops, quaint little boutiques and good cafés and restaurants all offering local specialities. The region is well renowned for its excellent produce, and local food safaris are popular with conference guests.

The surrounding wilderness is easily accessible and forms the perfect backdrop for meeting incentives and team building events.

The mountain town of Røros goes back to the 17th century. The exceptional cultural value of the mining and farming settlement has given Røros a place on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Housing a large collection of well-preserved wooden buildings, Røros has an active and growing community all living and working in the middle of a world heritage site. Strolling down the streets of Røros, you can practically hear the whispers of history.

A sustainable destination

In 2013, Røros received the certificate "Sustainable destination". This prestigious label is given to destinations that can show that they work systematically to reduce the negative impact of tourism while giving their guests the best possible experience. Sustainable destinations also aim to preserve the local history, traditions and nature.

If you wish to organise a green meeting, Røros is a great choice.
